The Vineyard

Winninger Hamm

The Place

Winninger Hamm. 0.2 hectares.
Steep slopes, slate, extensive handcraft.
A piece of hillside you tend to rather than own.
Small enough to know every vine – large enough to challenge you.

Slate stores heat, releasing it at night.
Keeping the acidity awake and forging mineral edges
that require no explanation.
A microclimate with a mind of its own – we work with it, not against it.

Little space. Much character.

The Old Lady

Old Vines

Planted in 1971

Three terraces, three characters. Cozy corners and a few real edges. We're still getting to know the vineyard – each vine needs its own look, its own pruning.

The old lady doesn't give much. But what she gives, she means seriously.

Less fruit. More substance.
